Repertoire: Jericho - Morton Gould New World Symphony, IV. Allegro con fuoco - Anton Dvorak
Results: Superior (1,1,1) with high remarks
Wow. Very surprising to me, considering the trumpets screwed up that one section in Jericho. The rest of it was fine, though. Finale (New World Symphony) went off without a hitch. I think that was the best that we had ever played it, considering we had never completely played through it before.
The band concert is scheduled for next week, but Reed's thinking about pushing Wind and Jazz back 2 weeks so that we can unleash the fury of our full repertoire
Just going through this year's band festival with the Wind Ensemble made me think of what we were going to do next year. All of our experienced players are graduating and we're starting off with a bunch of newbies. Granted, they've got talent, but they don't have experience, and that could be a serious problem. If we're going to get good, we're going to have to start early....
AAAAAAHHHH!!! HELP!!!! SPRING BREAK IS SLIPPING AWAY!!!
...wait a second, what spring break?
*sigh*
Okay, it's been two days already. I've finished typing up my Chem HW, but I still have to write out all the calculations and junk, I've got to practice piano and theory out to wazoo to make up for lost time, and I've still got to finish plans and junk for the next two months (ie: AP Exams, SATs, etc.)
Yesterday, I just kinda goofed off, went bowling with Doyle, Allison, Mallory, Cameron, Tommy, Jack, Emily, and McClellan, and then Doyle and I headed off to Reinmar's lake place for some Halo. It was incredible. Squad-based combat with all human players is awesome beyond belief. We've got to try it again!! Summer would work nicely; borrow the house for a week, get some people over there for Halo LAN, go hiking, boating, and try to swim across the lake, etc.
Man, so much to do, and not enough time... MY HEAD IS SPINNING!!! :?
Okay, I went to the doctor's office yesterday, and they finally figured out what was wrong with me. As it turns out, I had a displaced first rib on my right side. It was pinching a nerve that ran out of my shoulder, causing generalized pain in my right arm and messing with the muscles around the joints, thereby making them feel like they were going to come apart.
Basically, the doctor put his hand on my shoulder and snapped the displaced rib back into place, which sounds painful, but it really wasn't  . Very strange, but very good. It freed up my rotator cuff nicely. All I needed was a little Advil to get rid of the soreness and I was good for the next day.
This morning, I had a chance meeting with Kenneth because my bus was late, leaving me with no time to visit the band room. As it turns out, he had gotten the note from Breanna and now was passing it on to me (FINALLY). Well, she misses me as much as I miss her, so I've at least got something to work for :D . This might be what keeps me going for the next week until "Spring Break."
That's another thing! THEY KILLED SPRING BREAK!!!   We now have a total of 4 days off school. Sucks, don't it?
Ah well, nothing much more has happened, but I'll keep this thing well posted when they do. Peace out, and wish me luck! 8) :D :D :D
